Default Marathon after upgrade still slow

Working on getting up the rest of the makeover, but I'm still trying to get the aftermarket upgrades to work for me. As listed in my sig, I have an AT 4855-P with stock motor.

My previous problem of the HPD was fixed from here: http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...d-alltrax.html
Thanks to all.

My problem now is speed. Yes, speed is relative with marathons, but with the bit I've done to it, it should be better than stock but it's not. About 9mph on the flats and 5-6 on a hill. Feels like it'll die at any minute, but always chugs up the hill. I have brand new batteries also.

Testing the controller, I think there's a bottlenecking here of voltage because the controller only sees 24.7 at WOT when connecting B+ to M-. How do I fix this?

Have you checked the programming to make sure the output is set to 100%?

100% on the programming. The rest is left stock, set for 0-5k.

Have you checked the pot output is actually 0-5k and not too much under or over 5k?

Just a quick note, did you get the cabling done to match your 4 blade controller? The link you posted reminded me ?

0-5.11 on the pot still. Yes, I wired it up according to the Alltrax diagram for a 4 blade controller.

There many things that factor into a slow older cart. First you must realize that a bigger controller will not increase speed in a series cart, period. only taller tires, gears, higher rev motor etc will do that.

Check you motor brush condition, brake drag, tire inflation and such too.

Newbie here, how do I check the brush condition of the motor and how to I know what is bad or not? SHOULD the controller see the full pack voltage at full throttle and if so, what's keeping that from happening. I would understand the brakes or tires may be the issue if it was seeing the full pack voltage and still slow, but I'm at a loss. Thanks for all your guys' help in the meantime.

In another thread your controller output was 24v. Are you still having that problem?

Yes. I just checked it this AM. Any idea what could cause this?
