Default Yet another Marathon rebuild.

I purchased this fairly clean, stock 1994 Marathon back in September. The main reason for buying this is to use around my inlaw's weekend place near Freeport, TX. Just something to run down to the marina and back with, and for the kids to tool around on. So, here she is:

The good thing with this cart is that everything is here, and it all works. The batteries are all 2009 batteries, with date codes ranging from May-Dec 2009.

The cables and wiring are starting to show their age a bit though.

I noticed that there is an extra solenoid wired in here somehow. It is wired to a switch on the floor. Using GPS, pushing this switch while in motion will give approx 1 mph more speed. Top speed I have clocked is 15 mph with just me in the cart on level ground.

Here's the switch I was talking about:

Now normally, I would start to tear into the mechanical and electrical and get all of that where I want it first. But I am going to have to work a little backwards with this one. I have a buddy that does vinyl signs and vehicle wraps. The first few weeks of the year is usually slow for him, so he is going to wrap it for me if I can get it to him soon. I'm trying to confirm with him when I can bring it to him. He asked that I keep the cart together and functional so that he can get the design to line up right, so this is as far as I am going to tear into it for now. This is the overall look I'm after:

Plans after the wrap include:
Undercoating cart with truck bed liner
clean up of battery tray and coat with bed liner
New cables
Upgraded F-N-R switch
separate 12V battery system
??? solar charger for 12 V???
new lights
replace all trim pieces
new stereo and speakers
new seats, rear seat kit
seat belts front and rear
HD springs
Possibly new shocks
Lift?
tires/wheels
and a few lighting tricks I've picked up from motorcycling.

Overall, should be a fun project.

It looks good, The solenoid on the Driver's side is not stock? Where do those cables go?
A solar charger for a 12v battery is a great idea if you get enough sun time.

I don't think it is stock. One of the small red wires goes to the switch on the floor near the brake pedal. I believe the stock solenoid is under the cover in between the batteries with the controller. I haven't tried to trace the wires yet, but I will when I start dealing with the electrical. At this point, it works so I'm not going to mess with it just yet.

I went to the garage and pulled the cover from the controller.
