Clubcar 2011 problems.

Hi guys, I have a Clubcar 2011 model Carryall 2, Model #QB1118 which I am having problems with.

It started acting up and would stall from time to time and the drive at very slow speed, and then it'd go back to normal pace. It then after a few weeks decided to just go extremely slow all the time. So I swapped the speed sensor and magnet from another cart and it still did the same thing. I cleaned and tested all the batteries all reading around 6.4volts. I am unable to load test the batteries due to the cart being in limp mode but they all seem fine.

So I pulled the cover off all the electrics in the back and dusted them off with a broom. Then I reset the OBC. The cart worked fine for a couple of hours but went back into limp mode. I reset the OBC again and no change, still in limp mode.

This cart also had a fault with the voltage converter and I replaced it, the new one cost $990AU. The old one had smoke coming out of it. It was mounted on the chassis of the cart underneath.

Have contacted my Clubcar dealer and because I am in a very remote area they have agreed to send out their diagnostic computer to try and find the fault. I was just wondering if anybody might have a suggestion towards resolving this issue. Much appreciated. Thanks.

i,m guessing if your saying each battery has 6.4 volts your cart has eight 6 volt batteries in it instead of six 8 volt batts???.....if i,m wrong and you do have 8 volt batts, theres a big issue there with those readings........since your in a remote location do you have any basic parts for it you can try swapping out?? now this is unlikely but i have on a few occasions seen a solenoid going bad that would act up that way, but its unlikely.......................

Could be a speed sensor problem.
I would do a speed sensor test (in stickies).

Yes, the buggy has 8 batteries. Hope that's not a bad thing.

I tried swapping the sensor out. Didn't make any difference. :(

I did the speed test earlier Jake (I made sure I did that before starting a new thread), there was no braking when I pushed the buggy and the buzzer sounded. So that's when I swapped out the speed sensor from a spare buggy and it still drove extremely slow. You can walk faster.

So here is an update on what's happened so far.

1) Buggy going extremely slow.
2) Tested batteries ( 6.4v x8 )
3) Tested speed sensor (pushed buggy, buzzer worked, braking did not work)
4) Swapped speed sensor from spare buggy.
5) Buggy still extremely slow.
6) Put original sensor back in.
7) Reset OBC ( buggy worked at normal operating speed for a couple of hours)
8 ) Fault check with diagnostic tool and the results where as follows

System Faults:
Relay coil fault.

Fault History:
Throttle fault 1
Low battery voltage
HPD
Speed sensor fault
Main driver on
Main coil open
Main drop out
Motor stall
Relay DNC
Relay driver on
Relay coil fault.

Hmmmm, I don't know much about those faults from the CC readers, but hopefully someone who does will chime in...

Today we had the same problem with a 2010 carryall 2, and found the answer.

There is a little 48v/30A relay called walk away ralay. You can find it under the sollenoid and next to the controller.

And that little guy is the problem.

Check the wiring or replace te relay.
