Re: EZGO PDS Shudders/Won't Move with Much Diagnosing
I don't know what the 4 digit prefix in the serial number means, but the part number says it is an early version of a Curtis 1206MX controller.
EZGO used there types of 1206 controllers. 1206 (No Suffix) is a controller for series wound motors 1206SX is a sepex motor controller used in DCS carts 1206MX is a sepex motor controller used in PDS carts. All of the F/R and solenoid activation circuits are external with a 1206. The F/R function and half the solenoid activation is internal with a 1206SX Both F/R and Solenoid activation is done internally with a 1206MX. Essentially, the 1206MX is a Fly-by-Wire system and the external controls simply tell the controller what to do, and it does the task. To get the controller to activate the solenoid, B+ has to exist on all the wires highlighted in red. (Note: Shown in Forward. In Reverse J1 Pin-2 has B+ and J1 Pin-3 is zero.) |

Ordered #808 from ScottyB. He was a very helpful guy. I hope this takes care of the problem.

Re: EZGO PDS Shudders/Won't Move with Much Diagnosing
I got the #808 kit from ScottyB at cartsunlimited.com. It includes the controller and solenoid. It's alive! Great instructions on how to put everything together. ScottyB was very helpful.
Thanks Scotty! Shane |

Good to hear it Shane. I'm real curious about the performance. I never toned one down so much. Our program goal was only slightly better than stock. How did we do?

Re: EZGO PDS Shudders/Won't Move with Much Diagnosing
I know. Like I said on the phone, it's kind of boring to have to tone it down like we did. However, being as this cart is used for feeding our dairy calves, I didn't want the hired help having too much fun on it! The programming was great. I drove it around for a bit and was happy with the setting.
You have to be careful when hauling around buckets and bottles of milk and water. It doesn't take much to unload them, accidentally. Shane EDIT: Thanks to everyone for their input and help. I had no idea there were such die hard golf cart enthusiasts. I've learned a lot here on the site. |
