Re: Early 90s ezgo just stopped
The throttle is telling the controller to pass amps to the motor, but the controller isn't doing what it is being told to do, so the controller is bad.
--------- The NPX300 in the e-bay add is a stock replacement and might be okay if you didn't drive in sand or on hills. I suspect you need more than just a stock controller, something like an AXE400 or larger, especially if your tires are taller than 18" or you have a rear seat. |

Re: Early 90s ezgo just stopped
Ok my cart is bone stock and as for the rear seat I usually don't have anyone on it, so will the controller I found on eBay work for me?

Re: Early 90s ezgo just stopped
Is that the correct one is what I'm asking, I'm very new to the golf cart scene and you've been a huge help!

Re: Early 90s ezgo just stopped
Yes, it is essentially a direct replacement for the stock controller in your cart.
The stock (Curtis 1206) controller is 275A and this is 300A, which has a bit more oomph, but you mentioned almost getting stuck in sand. A golf cart is designed to carry two players and their clubs over groomed cart trails for 18 or so short trips of about 300 yard each, on tires that are 18" tall, with a few minutes rest between trips. If you want to do much more than that, you need to upgrade the drive system. |

Re: Early 90s ezgo just stopped
Evening I finally got my new alltrax controller 4834 and the 4 prong connector is different I had small pins on my original controller and have flat bars on this one , will this work? Do I just change the connectors and rewire for the bigger connectors?

Quote:
That controller is for a 1994 and older EZGO series cart with a Pot-Box throttle and you have a 1994 and newer series cart with an ITS throttle. The seller's description does not match what you received. "EZGO Golf Cart part motor controller 19941/2 -up series 300amp 24 to 48 volts" You need a NPx4834EZ rater than a NPX4834 with no suffix. |
