Default 1997 Club Car DS Charging question with a 48v to 12v Converter Installed

Questioning when I install this basic 48v reducer to the battery pack, if when charging of the battery process will the voltage be too high for this 48v converter over the charging time? noticed the voltage can reach as high as 65v to the pack when charging, will it damage the converter only rated at 48v input? Is there something I should be doing before charging to cut the chances of over load to the converter? Thanks
