Re: G1 oil
I use Mercury Synthetic outboard oil in my Yamaha outboards and have chosen to use the same oil in my cart.

Re: G1 oil
The OB oil is very good oil, though some still say you need an air cooled oil for air cooled 2 strokes. I run the cheap tech walmart oil in everything (like lawn equipment) except OBs or other high performance 2 strokes. The gallon size burns clean and works well, the tiny bottle seems to be different stuff. For OB I run the pennz synthetic or blend, mercury, or bomb (omc) oil. If you have the injection I would run OB oil or pennz, or other quality rated and injection rated oil. Some of the weedeater/chainsaw stuff is thicker and not for injection. The injection takes very little oil so don't worry about spending a little on it. Yamalube is very good oil too.
If I was mixing a G1 I would use the walmart tech gallon, or pennz, both likely cheaper and good oil. I have used the walmart stuff in a low power OB but not 100hp+. IIRC it is OB rated. |

Re: G1 oil
I've been using Echo brand oil from Home D**ot. I've used it for years on all my trimmers, blowers, chainsaws, etc. It's synthetic and has an alcohol treatment in it. Good stuff.

Re: G1 oil
im not trying to steal this so sry. Im getting ready to change from yamalube to Pennzoil 2 stroke. Is there different blends of oil from pennzoil like there is from yamalube? If so what mix is the best for my g1. I been mixing my yamalube at 2oz to a gallon is that a good mix for the pennzoil? I know thats a lil rich but im in country and dont mind a lil extra smoke. Just trying to keep it from blowing up.

Re: G1 oil
Are you Pre-Mixing,or running the Oil-Injection?Some oils are Injection-Only,some Pre-Mix Only, some will work for both.Make sure you read the label.Hope this helps.

Re: G1 oil
I agree, Echo is a quality company many people don't know about. For me HD store is longer drive so I don't hit it very often.
