Re: G16 max RPM or (Red line)max
Small 1 cylinder engines the max I would stay at is 3600 rpm. That's the full working speed. Any higher results are increased wear, and wasted fuel. Look up volumetric efficiency.

Re: G16 max RPM or (Red line)max
It locked up and shut itself off! As far as the 3600,thats a general spec for covering most stock engines, every application is going to be different.Volumetric effiency and max useable Rpm are 2 different scales. On a cart, they are underpowered, overweight, and overgeared to compensate for the power and weight. They will run alot of rpm, without damage right up to their redline point.I raced 5hp Briggs motors on gokarts for years, they run between 6500-7500for a long time, they are rated 5hp@3600 by the mfg.,as this is the standard operating baseline that they all work around.Hope this helps.

Re: G16 max RPM or (Red line)max
Most lawn and garden single cylinder engines are governored to run at 3600 RPM. most other 1 lungers can run up to 4000 or 4500 without too much worry. Just make sure you have good oil in the engine

Yep,Full Synthetic is highly recommended,especially in a splash-lube motor.
