1998 Yamaha C19 48V
I bought a 1998 48v from a guy who rebuilds these in town. The cart is a blast and gps shows it goes 25mph. Only downside is the batteries seem to die real quick so I'll be looking into what we can modify to eliminate that. Check out the pics!

Pic of the electrics in the rear? And I'd say start with better brand batteries, although I can't read what those are. They look like sealed maintenance free deep cycle batteries and not golf cart batteries with caps to fill the cells.

Re: 1998 Yamaha C19 48V
That battery setup is total garbage. The batteries aren't golf cart batteries. The batteries aren't even matched. Total waste of time & money on those batteries. I would be letting that seller go ahead and fix that BS. That cart is supposed to have 6x 8v batteries like Trojan T-875. Knowing what he does with batteries, I would be super sceptical of all his other work as a so-called "rebuilder". I consider that battery job ripping you off, as the customer. Those won't last a year.

can you give me a quick rundown on why the 6x8v would be better than the 4x12v?

Re: 1998 Yamaha C19 48V
Well, first of all, thoes aren't even designed for golf cart use. Actual golf cart batteries have far more lead in them, and different plate design. Regular batteries & marine batteries aren't designed to be discharged deeply like golf cart batteries are. Starting batteries are designed to supply short bursts of extreme energy, and recharge as soon as the engine starts. Golf cart batteries are designed for extensive use between charging, and cyclic use of charge and discharge cycles. Starting batteries will live a short life span in golf cart use. The more lead you can get under the seat, the more range and lifespan you will get. The reason for this "more lead = good" thing is the less you discharge between recharges, the longer the battery life.

Re: 1998 Yamaha C19 48V
Also since 6x8v has more lead in than 4x12v, you get longer runtime. The longest runtime would be 8x6v but there isn't room for 8 batteries lol
