After seeing this thread some time ago, I picked up this amp & speakers.

Mini Hi-Fi Stereo Amplifier Amp Home For Mp3 Ipod Car
Sony & KLH Outdoor Waterproof Speakers Jeep Wrangler NR

I'm into it all for about $30. And since we'll be removing the MP3 player whenever we're not in the cart, I don't expect theft to be a problem. We leave the cart various places in our neighborhood while we're at neighbor's houses or at the beach so this might be an issue with a nicer system on the cart.

Here it is installed. Amp is above the driver's left foot. Speakers under the back rests. MP3 input cable is on the dash in the middle. Sounds pretty good..... for a $30 system.

Ok.....got tired of waiting on you guys to do something so I took it upon myself. Started out with a pair of 7" Alpine 2 way marine speakers and just a cheap Sony CD player with remote.

This is what I've used in other off road vehicles:

There are other similar packages on the market, but that's the general idea.

It eliminates the need for a head unit, just plug in your iPod and you're good to go.

They are marine speakers so I would guess they will handle alittle water and beer....plus my cart is garage kept. My old G16 had a pair of MTX 8" marine speakers and the got soaked a few times with no problems.

I have recently bought a motorcycle stereo with speakers. it has a FM radio with an antenna, plus it has the mp3 jack that can be plugged in. the speakers are about 2.5-3 inch in diameter. I haven't had a chance to hook em up and listen to em, but if the speakers aren't great Pyle makes a badass set of motorcycle speakers that would look cool mounted on the top of the dash. Everything is waterproof (probably beer proof too) so alls good there.

I'm a bit more frugal that lots of you guys (you might say "cheap"!), but I bought a portable AM/FM/Weather radio for $20 at Wally World that fits perfectly in the center section of my Precedent's dash. Not stereo, but comes in loud and clear and gets the job done! Runs on two D cell batteries, so it's not pulling a lick of power from the battery pack. It's also very removable when not in use!!!!

I have installed multiple stereos in my life and most have been of quality, Alpine, Blapunkt, Kenwood, etc... But like most I enjoy trying to get something for next to nothing so I thought what the heck I'll try one of these little amps that they guys are talking about because if they're crap then I am only out $10.00. So I went to ebay found the cheapest one I could, paid $10.50 for it shipped from China and in about 7 days it came...

All I can say is this is the best $10 I have ever spent! This little amp rocks! I was blown away about how good my IPOD sounded with this thing. Very impressive...
