Re: 1988 gas ezgo
Thanks for the input on the oil. My cart does not smoke on 3oz per gal .Will it hurt to stay at this mix even after first tank is through? Still am confused about the resisting on the hill comeing out of my feild .Cart stops and makes noise. I was told by going 1inch smaller this would help. Wanted to talk to you guys befor moving forward with this.
Thanks Les |

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
I have the shorter belt it was a little touchy for awhile but now has broken in and I like it K as the mix the only thing you will do is plug up the muffler. Go with the 128:1 after the first tank and all is good.

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
It sounds to me like your driven clutch is sticking open thus keeping the cart in high gear. You could remove the plate behind the driver's seat and get a chum, wife, girlfriend etc to watch as you drive.
Just to reiterate the first tank after a rebuild should be 40:1 (3oz oil to 1 gallon gas) and after 40:1. A shorter belt is the Dayco HP 3004 which is 7/8 inch shorter and will give you better acceleration and hill climbing. Dave |

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
Actually I just reread post #35. If you really mean 45 1/2 inches then your belt is too long and I bet that is the cause of your problem.

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
I took the belt off and the outside measurement is 45 1/2".
I mixed 3gal of gas at 3oz per gal and I am now on my second plug due to fouling. after the first tank isn't it supposed to be 128:1 and what does that equate to in oz to gal. |

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
after checking on the dayco hp 3004 is 44 1/8" and the belt quoted for an 88 is 44 1/2" is 3/8" going to make that big a difference?

Re: 1988 gas ezgo
Disreguard that last post got my numbers mixed up ment to say 45 1/2" which makes you correct with 7/8 of a difference. see I can admit when I'm wrong.
