Wiring question 01 regen 2

The OBC removes the power from the Blue wire when it senses a charger is plugged in (gray sense wire).

The OBC also removes power from the Blue wire when it goes into sleep mode, which happens 3 days after the cart being unplugged from the charger.

When You turn the key switch ON and Press the Pedal (the key switch is directly powered by the Tow/Run switch not the OBC):

Controller receives +48v on Pin #3 Green/White wire.
Controller sends +48v to wake-up the OBC on pin #6 Yellow wire.

Make sure the micro-switch is working and both of those voltages are present.

You should try plugging the charger first as that also wakes-up the OBC.

Ok just completed this test.

51 volts on the green and white wire going to the controller.
27 volts on the yellow wire going to the obc
I am not sure if this proves the micro-switch is working.


Where in the world do I go next? Lol

I assume the OBC was connected.

Did the charger work?

That wire going to the controller should have 0v until the pedal is pressed, then +48v while pedal is pressed (micro switch closed).

The Yellow wire going to the OBC should work the same way, 0v with pedal up and +48v with pedal down.

Obc connected.
the charger will charge and shut off.
Green and white 0v until u press the pedal then 51.
yellow 0 until press the pedal then 26.

I have about the same symptoms as my other controller and obc.
this system was on a 99 regen 2 hope it will work the same.

So with the OBC connected You don't have +48v on the blue wire leaving the OBC?

I do not have power on the blue wire.

Can't think of any reason why a new OBC would not work.

That was the same vintage OBC right, the new ones are not designed to provide power to the system on the Blue wire, just a low current signal to the Controller.

Well this is the story. I purchased this from a guy that owns a custom shop. It was his personal cart but he decided to put a customize the cart with motorcycle motor. So it was installed on the cart for a couple of months before he removed it. I purchased the complete system. The obc has gray plastic on the cover and mine was brownish color. It is made by lester. With this system I can jump the obc as u instructed and get the b silenoid to engage where I could not get this with the old system. Not sure if that means anything.

The Regen models were the only ones where the OBC actually powered part of the system, the newer versions of the OBC will not be able to drive much current out of the Blue wire.

Leave the Jumper in place for now.

I assume by "B" solenoid You are referring to the Dynamic Brake solenoid with the resistor coil on top.

Set your meter to 200v dc and place it on the small posts of the main solenoid.

With the Key ON, Do You get +48v when You press the pedal?
