Yamaha g8 ignition coil
Hey guys, I recently purchased a g8 cart that is missing the ignition coil. Will a coil from a g2 or g9 work or are they completely different? Also the balance shaft in the engine is broke. Is it safe to run without it? I'm thinking so. Thanks

Re: Yamaha g8 ignition coil
Yamaha call's for a JF2 coil for G8's, not J38. Some say they run without the balancer, I have never tried it in 35 years. good luck.

Re: Yamaha g8 ignition coil
The balance shaft is for driver comfort. It doesn't help the engines durability at all BUT you need to see whether it shakes the fillings out of your teeth as some has described what running a clone without a balance with an unbalanced crankshaft feels like.
