Default Gas to carburetor

How do I know if there is enough gas getting to the carburetor of my 1983 E-Z-G0? How much is enough?

There should be a steady stream from the fuel pump as the engine is cranking.

Thank you. That is what I thought. I'm just getting spurts and splashes.

A steady pulse is the way these pumps work.

This is what the inside of the pump looks like. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/gas-e...fuel-pump.html

Thanks to all. I think I found the problem. The seal on the filter was not air tight. I will replace the fuel filter tomorrow, hopefully that will get me going.

That would be a problem. Also check the crankshaft seals.

I think the crankshaft seals are beyond my capabilities.

The seals themselves are super easy to replace. It’s just pulling the flywheel and clutch (but mostly the flywheel) that’s usually a pain...
