G14 Fuel starving a low speeds
Trying to solve a starving fuel issue with my G14. The engine starts and runs when pulling the choke. Let go of the choke and keep it full throttle and it will run ok. (A little sputtering at time under full throttle). As soon as I slow down, I have to pull the choke out to keep the motor running. I’ve put in fresh gas, brand new carb, new plug, new fuel filter, new fuel pump. Nothing has solved the problem. At full throttle it seems to get good fuel and air mixture. At slow speeds I starves for fuel and does backfire sometimes. Can’t seem to figure this one out.

Re: G14 Fuel starving a low speeds
I'm betting you bought one of the $30 china specials (a real yamaha one is about $240, and says "Mikuni", instead of "Mokini"), and you didnt win at the "working china carb lottery".

Re: G14 Fuel starving a low speeds
I kept the original carb. Maybe I'll try a rebuild kit and put the old one back on. The issue with the old carb was the previous owner stripped the threads for the screw that holds the bowl in place and it would leak fuel from the bowl.
