Default Drivers brake grabbing

Picked up a 08’ EZGO TXT 36v cart a few months ago.
Noticed a pulsation when applying brakes. Most noticeable going down hill under heavy braking.
Cart is not lifted and has stock tires. I have done the following in order.

- Replaced both drums
- Replaced both backing plates(loaded)
- Checked U bolts
- Disconnected drivers side brake cable to verify that drivers side was
grabbing(could have done this sooner I guess)
- Took drivers brake cable out of bracket and checked connection at cable
connector
- Checked bushings on drivers side(all looked intact)
- Replaced drivers axle, bearing and seal

I have run out of ideas 🙁

I was bored tonight, I had leaf spring bushing laying around. So I decided to install them. No difference.

I forgot to mention that the drivers side brake grabs/pulsates in reverse as well.

Could it possibly be something in the diff?

Looks like you covered all bases. I'd be stumped too. I can't comprehend any way it could be the differential.

Most likely cause is out of round drum. As former auto tech, even new drums should be trued up on a brake lathe as should new rotors.

If axle was bent you would feel rear of cart numb up and down when ridding on smooth road.

Dragging brake shoes due to a sticking cable, bad adjuster or spring not allowing shoes to retract when brake pedal is released will cause shoes and drum to over heat causing drum to warp.
Since you state yours are all new,I’m betting you just got slightly out of round new drum.

Cobra may be onto something...I get out of round hubs often...An easy way to verify would be to just switch the hubs from pax side to drivers and vice versa and see if the pax side pulses instead of drivers side...

Well, you guys nailed it.
Swapped a known good drum and issue is gone.
Can’t believe I wasted so much time and money on a simple problem like an out of round new drum.
Thanks again
