I would look for US Battery model 250HC-XC, 283 amp/hr.

just ran a test and the batteries went from 38.7 volts to 35.5 volts in around 20 minutes of run time. not good!

I just went to 8 6v T145 in my off-road electric. The extra amp hours give some crazy run times even with the big tires & aftermarket motor.
So if you are looking for run time consider going to 48 volts with eight 6v batteries.

For 48v you would have to replace/add batteries, the controller, solenoid and charger, nothing that $1,000 can't fix.

I just recently replaced the stock controller with a 400amp alltrax and a high torque motor and solonoid. Will this work at 48v? Speed is not an issue, I just want lots of torque. Will I be better off with 6-8v or 8-6v batteries or is there any difference? Thanks

Check the rating plate on the motor and the Alltrax website to see if they are 48v compatible. If they are check the label on the solenoid to see if it is 48v.
A 48v solenoid will work on 36v, but not the other way around.
8 6v will give you longer run time, more lead, more storage/run time.
