Looking for a good cold weather enclosure and heater.
I searched BGW and came across some cold weather enclosure threads but not where brands are discussed.
My goal is to get the 2007 ezgo I just bought to be comfortable for my MIL so she can ride around the pasture this winter. She's disabled and can't climb on my quads anymore. I'm looking for a cold weather enclosure thats going to last a couple cold seasons, be easy to get in and out of using zippers, fairly windproof and have a nice clear view. I also want to do a small portable heater (Coleman maybe) and a seat blanket. Thanks |

Well the make the little propane heaters that fit in the cup holder, or a fixed one that looks OEM.

As a guy who has worked through winters on a cart, you need a cab style enclosure. Soft covers are good for a slight windbreak and little else. 12v heaters are worthless. Go propane.

Anybody had good luck with one brand over another? Amazon reviews on the enclosures only have a couple each. |

I think for the most part they are all about the same except color and size

Re: Looking for a good cold weather enclosure and heater.
If she's not going to be out any longer than that, she should be fine. I liked my Classic Industries soft cover. The second one I bought looked almost identical, but was much more cheaply made. Window plastic was very thin, the nylon was not resistant to water penetration, and the zippers were very chintzy. I'd make sure the one you are buying says Classic Industries. I learned that lesson the hard way.
I've been trying to get another member here to sell me his spare enclosure since he showed up on the site. No luck as yet. "Curtis" I believe is the name of the manufacturer of that cab. |

When I tried to use my cover with my small coleman propane heater last year, the windows fogged up and started to sweat, and I could not see out of the clear plastic.

Re: Looking for a good cold weather enclosure and heater.
Always remember......a by-product of un-vented gas or propane combustion is H-2-0. Yup....good 'ol water!!
That's why un-vented heaters are just plain lousy to keep cars stored in northern climates. Your keeping the car metal warm....and then supplying the metal with warm water to get it to rust quickly. |
