I think I read somewhere about having to have a steering wheel puller.

Loosen, but do not remove nut in center of wheel.
Place feet on dash area with knees under wheel and maintain upward pressure on wheel with knees.
Using a wood dowel, brass/copper bar, place it on nut and whack it with a large mallet/hammer.
Steering wheel should break free with a few whacks.

Many have had success with this method while others finally had to get a wheel puller of sorts to remove it.

Good luck! . . . .

I learned from here- back the nut to the end of the stud in center of steering wheel. Get a piece of wood that you can hold on the nut/stud. With your feet on the dash and your knees on the backside of the steering wheel applying pressure toward rear of cart, place wood on nut, stud and give it a good whack with a hammer. Mine took 2 whacks

Yeah I guess I will have to get a puller since seats are not installed for the other methods...I know after soaking ti for 2 days with penetrating oil and hitting it with a hammer it still hasn't budged.

Gator,

Believe me, I have been there! I have tried all those methods. I spent days trying to remove the steering wheel on my Precedent.

You can do that all over again, or spend $23 like I finally did and have that wheel off in 15 minutes.

Take a look at my thread regarding this issue.

Good Luck with your steering wheel.

Ed

p.s. You might as well add a custom steering wheel while you are installing that new dash, lol!
