357cc g9 swap
I'm putting a g22 357cc motor in my g9 the motor mount location are way off from the 285cc to the 357 so I have to align my clutche and make a new cradle I was wondering if anyone could tell me the best way to align them I'm using stock belt and stock g22 cradle just adding crossmembers I'm thinking the need to be exact center of eachother just not sure thanks guys

Re: 357cc g9 swap
I might have listed the G9 offset in one of my threads on putting a clone in. I think they are aligned (belt is straight) at rest. I measured the stock offset with a straight edge from the back of the primary to the front of the secondary, because those are the two fixed sheaves that do not move. You also have to get the engine in line with the trans. I did it with the clutches installed, then marked the bolt holes to drill for the engine.

Re: 357cc g9 swap
How did it work out? 357 has around 20-25% more power.

Re: 357cc g9 swap
Definitely more fun lots of torque I port polish the head cut 30 thou off of it advanced the timing bored the carb jetted and it goes really good I'm getting ready to put a 10 shot of nitrous to her so with the lower rear end gear in the older carts this thing should be a monster

Waiting on a couple things yet fuel and nitrous solinoid but I'm definitely excited to see how it does think I'm going to be limited by rpms but it will be fun to get there a lot quicker done a lot of research and seems like all the ducks are in a row and she will take it

Re: 357cc g9 swap
Might help the rod get outside the block knowing my luck lol. Would be fun but had it before and the tank is always going empty. Suppose it would last longer on such a tiny engine. How do you richen it, just put an elec pump on into a jet to come on with it?
