Re: IGNITION COIL possible short ?
Today I removed starter generator from cart and opened it up blew all the dust out with air gun the brushes are worn but still have about 3/8" left from groove on brush so should be good for awhile yet. I looked at terminals and all seemed ok . I put generator back together and tested it was still showing continuity from F2 to casing so I took it apart again this time i removed the frame that holds brushes to end cap and noticed that one of the wires was against a rivot and wore through the wire. I smoothed out the rivot and taped the wire then re assembled the starter generator reinstalled back in cart hooked up all wiring including the engine ground started the cart and problem was solved. put a 10 amp fuse instead of the 30 amp and its all fine now.
I want to thank everyone for helping me out I have learned a lot and hope this may help someone else out in the future. George |

Re: IGNITION COIL possible short ?
Good job, George. Glad you found it. That was one tough problem to find. Got a little expensive too, what with all the 30 amp fuses going up in smoke !! Again, glad you found it. - RAY

Re: IGNITION COIL possible short ?
Thanks Ray I only went through about 16 fuse's lmao but now there is a 10 amp in there and its holding up well.
can't believe how well my utility cart is running nice and smooth starts right up every time , running better then it has in long time with plenty of power apparently that short must have been messing with the engine firing as well cause it had been running rough for some time thought it was just tune up time but now its great. I am glad I found this forum and some new friends. George |

Re: IGNITION COIL possible short ?
That's the advantage of having a wiring diagram. You don't need to spend money on fuses and other components if you can read the diagram and figure out what is going on.
