Default Crazy idea or smart

Would a 250 cc carb off a dirt bike work o. These old 244 robins, if engine work is done, ex bore shaved head, upgraded coil wire ect, any input would be appreciated!

It will work, I have a buddy that is running a 34mm mikuni on his. He had to replace the throttle cable running it directly to the foot pedal. He over bored and took .030 from the head.

Any chance you know if he noticed anything speed or torque wise?
I know they say these robins can't be powerful engines, but I refuse to believe a 2 stroke can't put out more than 18 mph

It took me a few days to remember who did this experiment.

That was swapping ezgo carbs I'm thinking if I swap it with a motorcycle carb it'll be jetted for more performance and kick a little more power out.

I tried multiple sizes of mikunis when I had the robins 2 stroke in my ezgo. 28,30,32,34. I settled on the 32. I tried a lot of mods to make it breath well enough for the 34 but I think the reed placement limits that. 32 was the sweet spot for me. Velocity was lost with anything larger.

It's been a while, but I could turn it about 5500-6000 I think. I had built a custom intake and used a set reeds from a dirt bike that were larger.

I also just looked back a couple years. I was wrong. I did even more testing that I thought. I ended up with a 26 mm mikuni. I apologize for the wrong info given. There's been a lot of projects since then.
