Default 2002 club car starter issues

I'm new to posting here, but have already got tons of usefull info from these forums, so thanks to all the contributers!
About 4 months ago I put a new starter/generator in my club car and its ran fine, the belt was completly worn out so of course it was slipping and very loose, so i changed the starter belt, next day the starter was dead, seems 4 months isnt much life out of a starter, when i took the belt off, the starter would spin, but weakly. So my question, is this common? and before i drop $ on another starter, is there something else that could be causing the starter to burn out?

Are you sure the battery is good ? Maybe a load test would help. SG units are pretty reliable and it's not unusual for them to run for 15 + years without issues and even then it's just brush or bearing wear for the most part.

betteries good, did load test, tried a new battery, checked all connections, i dont get it, every test i've done say the starter, i used the generator 101 thread, it was a reconditioned starter, with of course no warrenty.
