Manual recommends change interval of 4 or 5 years (i forget which). I suggest changing it more often due to the "wet brake" deposits that accumulate. The spider gears were not made to a real fancy finish, dont worry about 'em yet.

So I also have the rear end apart does the coller go around the governor fork. im putting it back together and cannot figure out how to get it around it.

Just fish the input shaft all the way into it's bearing hole, then simply flip the governor arm down and it's in place. Got any pictures?
