1979 EZGO gas with ec25ds engine
I'm very new to this forum. I have a question my engine is coughing and back firing it will go better in reverse than forward. I assume it's the points and condenser. My question is do I have to remove the engine to get at the points and condenser. If so what is the easiest way to do this. or if there is an easier way to repair them I would love to know. I can fix small engines but I never worked on one of these carts before. The cart ran rough when I bought it and I did not realize it would be a big job to do the points and condenser

Pretty sure you can do the HEI mod to the older carts with points
