Question on the fuel tank, there is a hole on top. I'm assuming it is for a vent, if so is there some off the shelf part that will work or will I need to get the part from a dealer.

The hole is a vent. I use an elbow on the best one I service and run a hose to an inline fuel filter. My other two I service do not care and just leave them open and hope an inline fuel filter will catch all. I would just install a push in elbow!

You can get a little check valve for vacume lines and insert that

Thanks for the link TheNewGuy, that really helped out to find some missing parts.

Update:

I removed that back half of the body and have it out back getting ready to chop, patch, sand and paint.
I got the tune up kit and got that all in. New air filter, pre-filter, fuel filter, spark plug and carb kit.

Borrowed the battery from my car and tried to to crank it up and couldn't get it to fire without spraying carb cleaning into the carb. Turned out to be clogged fuel pump and pilot adjustment port.

So after cleaning the fuel pump and carb again I got it to fire but i had to use the choke. I'm pretty sure all adjustments on the carb are off. I drove it down the street and it smelled rich. It still needed a pull of the choke to get it to fire and was kinda hard to keep running.

Definately was not smooth and I don't mean because of the 3 flat tires and the bent tie rod. There was some hesitation/bucking while trying to go.

And as it got cooler out here the cart would fire up without the choke but still smell too rich.

I hope to pick up a battery tomorrow and adjust the pilot adjustment screw to the stock settings.

edit:And I need to pick up a seal for the air box, the local parts house didn't have one in stock so I may have to order it, can that cause problems.

Any other suggestions on getting it to run right?

Thanks

Get the air box sealed first, then adjust the carb. Keep us posted.

I got a new battery and the seal for the air box. I adjusted the pilot adjustment screw to stock settings.
I still need to pull the choke to get the engine to start everytime the cart comes to a complete stop.
It has to be a fuel problem.

Any suggestions on where to go from here to get a smooth start-up without using the choke?

I also need some advice on lift and wheel/tire combo as I'm ready to get them and strip it completely down and clean it up for paint....I started another thread in the lifted cart section for lift and wheel/tire suggestions.

I got the cart to go from a stop without the choke. The idle adjustment was out pretty far and after closing it the cart will start right up. It is not smooth though, pretty jerky. The power is low at start then kicks in once it gets going. Is there a fix for this or something I should check?

Also I ordered a lift and wheel package from one of the site sponsors.

I'll get some pics up later but have some questions on the rear end of the cart. I never seen it talked about, but this one seems to have some coil springs added to the rear. So not only do I have the coil over shocks but I have a set of coil springs in the rear. Is this normal? From the welds it looks like it was added.
Will I have any issues installing the lift kit.

The coil over shocks are factory, the springs are not! Would like to see pics of that! DEpending on the kit, the rear hardware are typically just brackets that bolt to the frame and extend the top rear shock mount downwards to attain the lift. Don't know if that interferes with the extra springs or not.........

Here are the pics of were I'm at so far.

I think I made my mind to spray some sort of bedliner product on the body parts. Some of the parts are too beat up to try to do a good paint job on.
Any recommendations on a bedliner type of product?

I should start posting alot of pics as parts are coming in.
