Workhorse Questions
Looking at a 2004 Workhorse 1200MPT, it looks like an ideal platform for what I'd like to do (a utility vehicle for the farm/hunting lease)
Seller lists 744 hours, is that a lot? Am I looking at a rebuild? If so, how extensive? Seller also discloses that the cable for the F/R needs to be replaced, is this a big deal? Expense? Is this a 10 minute swap, or figure a full day for taking most of it apart? Any other gotchas to look for? |

Re: Workhorse Questions
That is low hours, but you should always check the compression, clutches and overall running condition. What's the price? I see you're in Dallas - you can always bring it by for a good "once over"

Re: Workhorse Questions
It's down south of here, and listed for $1000, seems cheap after looking at them up here (not sure if it's a scam or not)
I asked for more pics Think it could be stolen? |

Re: Workhorse Questions
OMG - $1,000.00? Can you say RED FLAG? Don't know, you should definately look at it. Price is rediculously too low, but you never know? If there isn't a serial number, then you have your answer...

Re: Workhorse Questions
We'll see if the seller emails me back, I'm kind of guessing it's a scam, but we'll see. I may be heading south this Friday, instead of west to the lease.
Here's to optimism. |

Re: Workhorse Questions
Ask him to email the serial number - I;ll call it in to see if there is a story. There were a few range picker carts stolen this year...

Re: Workhorse Questions
you can get to the cable real easy on the workhorse. shouldn't take long to swap, probably about 30 minutes all together for the cart in the shop and back out the door for just the cable change. Not sure of the cost of it though. yes 744hrs would be considered low.
If it doesn't work right the price should reflect that, at this point i would assume the rear doesn't work right if he won't fix something as simple as the cable. |
