Hesitation

Got a 2002 CC 48 volt. Sometimes there is a slight hestitation when accelerating. Could that be the potentometer. New F&R switch and good batteries and charge. Got good 4 guage cables on the batteries. Where is the potentometer?

Sounds like a definite possibility. I'm guessing you have an IQ car. If you're anywhere near a dealer they can plug in an IQ diagnostic machine and read the throttle percentage to keep you from buying a part you may not need... But yes, I'd definitely start with the potentiometer. On these models, it's called an MCOR (Motor Controller Output Regulator) and is located just beneath the passenger's feet under the floorboard mounted against the main I-Beam.

Dave, it's not the IQ but thanks for the info. Is access from the underside or under the floor mat?

It's accessed from underneath the cart. Right below the floorpan. You'll need a quarter inch ratchet with a 5/16" socket to remove the two bolts that hold it. Does your throttle speed fluctuate when holding the pedal steady? If so, that's a dead giveaway that it's the MCOR causing the problem.

Mostly the hesitation is when the pedal is being pushed down, not at a steady speed. It's very slight and its usually when you first start driving it. Are there any contacts inside the potentometer that can be cleaned or is it sealed?

Its a sealed unit.

I've seen these cart develop some throttle slop issues ..... makes it feel like they lag a bit when starting out? If so, this is in the peddle to MCOR rod connection...

There was a post a few months back that someone redid their linkage to take out the slop. I put on a new MCOR last night and while it's super smooth, it does seem like there is quite a bit of pedal travel before it kicks in.

The part that wears is aluminum so you can carefully squeeze it with a big channel lock and tighten it up....
You can test your ohms output to see you have full range...
