Default Help removing Clutch

I'm trying to remove the lower clutch (think that's the proper term). I've removed the bolt and attempted to use a puller and impact wrench. This thing will not budge. I actually broke the pulley trying to get it off. See pic below. Is there something that I'm missing. Any recommendations as to how to get this off?

Thanks,
Heath

Go to your local building supply joint, and pick up a can PB blaster, penetrating catalyst, spray that all around the shaft, and let it set for a few days, Its excellent for helping break loose those stubborn parts. Then try again with your puller. Good luck

Drop a solid rod into the hole, and then thread a 3/4" fine thread bolt in on top of that to push the clutch off. An air impact works best.

Thanks... I've been trying the PB blaster but hasn't been successful. Will keep at it.

Sorry. I'm not sure if I follow your recommendation. Would you mind elaborating?

Thanks!

Not sure but i think cart around, is saying is, get a piece of steel rod, slightly smaller then the O.D. of the clutch shaft hole. Drop it into the hole then thread 3/4 inch fine thread bolt into the clutch center, thus forcing the clutch, off as you thread the bolt down on to the rod. are you following that better? Don't forget more PB blaster. Good Luck!

Just make sure the bolt is in enough threads before it hits the bolt/rod (I've cut off bolts to make puller rods) so it can't strip threads, then grease or anti seize the threads. Sometimes you can fill it with grease and that works. You can never touch the sheaves on any of these carts or they break/bend right away.

This is the secondary clutch and it doesn't have any internal threads. You can't remove it like that. That procedure is for a primary clutch.
PB-Blaster and ALOT of heat toward the center of the clutch. Then pry it off from the back using 2 prybars evenly on each side of the ramp, or you will bend the input shaft. Don't use too much force or you will break the transaxle case you are prying against. Let the heat do its job. The clutch is toast anyway. You will get alot of smoke. The clutch has an internal spline that is corroded to the spline on the input shaft of the transaxle. I went through the same thing.

got mine off with (as 89 marathon mentioned) heat, pry bar and a hammer to "tap" on clutch
