Overwatered batteries?
Came home after church today and looked like someone spilled a cup of water underneath the cart. when i went to wipe it up it felt very slippery, looked underneath and it was dripping from the battery box. the tops of the batteries didnt look wet at all but im thinking i might have over filled them fri when i topped them off and they boiled over.
anything i should be concerned about? is this normal? is battery acid water really that slippery? should i make a baking soda solution and pour it by where it was leaking to ensure it doesnt rust and eat the battery box? thanks |

your batteries will bubble and gas when charging only fill after charging |

Rule number 1 - never top off your batteries except after a full charge. The level rises during charging. Rule 2 - never overfill! It makes a mess and causes corrosion of your battery cables and the battery rack. It also damages the paint on your garage floor if you have it painted.

Ya my floor is jacked! It was a full charge and I used the water filling system but this is the first time it's happened and I've filled them maybe 3 times since purchasing.

Double check all the caps. If your SPWS is working correctly it should not leak. Also check for loose hoses. I have had mine for three years and never had a problem.

It's easy to not get one of the valves seated on one of the batteries...double check all of them and the tubes to make sure the system was installed correctly. If you don't find and obvious issues then put some cardboard on the floor under the cart below the batteries and re-water the batteries to see if it leaks again...if it does...use a flashlight and try to see where it's coming from. Over the years I have seen batteries split a seam and it could be something out like that.

All the water is still in the batteries so I'm thinking just boiled over?
