Default 2015 club car precedent

I have a 2015 club car precedent, excel cart w Eric charger. It’s a non-lifted cart w 12 inch tires. I currently get 17-18 mph, top end. I was looking for 25-27mph top end. I’m sure this question has been asked a million times on here but I’m between two choices:

1) Plum bandit PH upgrade
2) upgrade controller to 400amp and fsip b3 motor.

Obviously option 1 is cheaper and less work, but I really just want to do it right the first time and get to my goal of top speed.

Any thoughts?

To get there, you need a controller either way.
The controller is the choke point here. You can probably get to 24-25 with a stock controller and upgraded motor but it’s going to take forever to get there, and if there’s a hill you’re just gonna crawl.

Controller first, cables, upgraded solenoid, then motor. Most any upgraded motor will get you near your target speed once you have the controller to feed it.

You probably do not want the B3 motor as that is associated with an EZGO model. The FSIP A3 or "Speed" motor is for the Club Car Sepex line.

With your Sepex cart, the limiting factor is in the logic controller as there is more capability left. An Alltrax is the way to go. With your goals and needs, I would not buy a 400, when for just a little more I can have the 500 and it includes the cooling fan while providing the most amperage available to max any motor or upgrade potential taken down the road. If you do not want to change much, the XCT300 will keep all your stock equipment and push you to ~23 mph and on 22" tires you can achieve 27 mph.

Lots of choices for you, but they all revolve around your goals, wishes and needs. Look here for some ideas:

Controllers:

400 https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...roller-400-amp
500 https://www.revolutiongolfcars.com/p...roller-500-amp

Good Luck!

Don't just think speed. Torque is just as important and maybe more so.

It's all very well to have a cart that will do 30mph but if it takes half a mile of flat straight road to get there and won't climb any hills, it won't be much fun.

Whatever you decide on, make sure it doesn't reduce the torque too much.

When you say "Level 3" Does that refer to the degree of difficulty to install the upgrade or the level of performance after the upgrade?
