Default Precedent Speed Sensor

I have a 2014 CC Precedent 48v, 6-8s. I decided to buy this "speed magnet sensor". Well, it did go faster...went from 18-21mph but hurky/jurky the whole time especially at lower speeds. Top end ran smooth but as soon as you started up again between 6-15mph the cart is lunging on and off. Once it reaches top end it levels out. Wasn't expecting much but keeping a smooth ride would have been nice. I'll be returning.

That is more than likely an MCOR problem. KS off, pump pedal 10 -15 times fast then try it. If it smooths out, replace MCOR. Do not buy cheap Chinese imitation from Amazon. Get one from David at Revolution Golf Cars, site sponsor and Club Car guru.

Don't know what you bought but a high speed magnet will not work with your year cart (excel)..It confuses the controller and you get the symptoms that you have.. They only work in IQ carts.....

So excel uses eric....? I though I had an IQ cart? Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Amazon seller was pretty vague other than 2008-up 48volt Precedent. My serial # starts with JE....

You don't have an IQ cart and the high speed magnet won't work... Just an fyi, on IQ carts the 2nd digit of the serial # is Q...

To get more speed from your year cart you can have speed code 4 from a CC dealer programmed for about 100 bucks (19-20 mph) or upgrade the motor or controller or both...

I agree with movin-on, I didn't pay attention to the year of the cart. He is correct.

Thanks for all the input. Movin-on nailed it. I replaced with original sensor, pumped the pedal and it rides very smooth and maxes out at 18mph. Actually rides smoother than it did before, I guess the 15 pedal pump is kind of a reset?
Thanks again. Now saving for AC/DC Navitas conversion or a high speed/torque & controller and all the ancillaries. My old CC DS ran 33mph and was stupid dangerous. I'm not doing that again, more torque and approaching 25mph would be fine.

And do not buy your MCOR4 from Amazon, as the cheap Chinese knockoffs will soon fail as well. Get a real one from our site sponsor and Club Car guru, David Hicks. The Club Car MCOR 4 has a Made in Mexico tag, not China.
