ok,, so you dont happen to know what can be causing that or is just the potentiometer that could be bad.?

If the throttle pot is unhooked from the cart and you are mesuring it correctly and you are getting those reading your throttle post is bad plain and simple. Nothing else will cause you to have a reading like that. (unless your not measuring it right) A throttle is like any other electrical device...water, corrosion....all kinds of stuff gets in there and will cause a failure.

oh ok, wen i mesured it i just unhooked the wires that run to the speed controller . should i disconect the other 2 wires that come out of the potentiometer,?

Not that this matters but with that setup cart would be a 94 or older marathon.
Roady correct me if I'm wrong on this.

Tom, according to the picture He has a potentiometer type throttle. His speed control is located in the center between the batteries.



Tech 2, Find the 2 wires for the throttle pot, dis-connect them from the speed control and then test the throttle pot.

ok, oh thats what i did 1st, and i did it agin and i got .6ohms no throttle and 7.12ohms full throttle. so i guess the potentiometer is bad
