Cart won't fire, drained a new battery
Howdy all. Pulled the old cart out of retirement not to long ago. It needed a new starter/generator. Found one on eBay but the guy wasn't for sure what type of cart it came off of. I hooked it all up by going off of the markings that matched my old one. I also bought a new battery. After finally getting it running again the kids put an hour or so on it. They stopped and it wouldn't fire again. The motor sllloooowwwlllyyyy cranks over. I hooked some jumper cables to the battery and it fired right up. Took the cables off and nothing. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance |

Re: Cart won't fire, drained a new battery
What happen in your other thread?? you never replied to it, did you get it running right? or is this the same problem? You need to test the volts the new starter/generator is putting out with a meter while the motor is running, it should put out around 14 volts or above if it is working

Re: Cart won't fire, drained a new battery
Sorry about that rib33024. Cart was running great! The kids loved it but it was short lived. The carb just came alive after many attempts . There wasn't anything to adjust on the carb really besides one screw and I'm not to sure that did anything. I know that I had drained the gas that was mixed 46 to 1 and went with the 126ish that I guess it's supposed to be. Never would've guessed. I've been racing dirt bikes for 18+years and never would've thought to mix a 2smoker that lean. I'll try and put a meter on the starter and see what's going on. If it doesn't measure up to the numbers then what?!
