Default G1 or G2 by serial number

My serial number, by one chart I seen , falls into 1987....I thought G1s stopped at 1986. But everything about mine looks like a G1, the seat, etc.

The serial number is J31-153436

anyone know if it's a G1 or G2 ?

Great forum btw, I've learned a lot already, prob need crank seals, etc... Shes down on power.

Thanks.👍

According to this page, there are 1989 G1s

Anyway, if itis a 2-strokes, then it is definitely a G1!

Pics would help, but I agree, if it's a factory 2 stroke it's a G1. G1 was the only 2 stroke cart Yamaha offered. It is also the only cart that Yamaha built with "tilt back" rear body section.

Look up the G3 Sunclassic, you will find it to also be home to the 2-cycle engine.

CG you got me. You know, I have never seen one of those in real life, only on this site. I think this is a conspiracy! There's no such thing as a G3!!!

Thanks.

I was going by this chart, shows this serial # falling into 1987 , between J31 149551 and 153969

then by the persons chart below, that somehow skips from 86 to 89, it shows my serial # after the 1986 also. idk, I'll find out for sure some day, its def a G1 though, thanks
