No need for kerosene... there won't be THAT much "sludge"

The transaxle should use 80W-90

I bought 2 , manu. in 10/05, Club cars, previously used on a golf course. $2200 each w/ an understanding I can switch any parts from the other 58.
Now to clean up, change oil/filters, etc. Will be able to provide serial # tomorrow.
Wondering, as the oil and filter have not been changed in some time, if I could better clean crankcase and engine by pouring a quart of kerosene through the engine.
Back in the good ole days, I was there, now 78, we used to do this (even briefly start or turn over the engine )? Got a lot more crud out!
I have purchased engine oil, filter, air filter, gear oil and a spark plug, then will lube all specified fittings.
I have a 2000 manual, probably nearly same as 2006/06. A local dealership told me there were no differences between 05/06.
I read someplace about using sae 30 wt. in the tranny/differential however bought 80/90 gear oil?
Any help/comments appreciated!
Wally

No Kerosene! Change the oil and drive it for awhile, then change again - if needed

Yes I did spend some time searching!
Kinda like the best help DIY ers site on the web but only if you own a Buick Reatta!
A division of aaca.org-Buick Motor Club, Reatta Division. Search ain't too good!
I want to clean the engine and engine compartment-wondering if I can cover a few? things and Gunk/wash or?
The 2, 06 cars are quite dirty.

hey wallly if you can locate a zep dealer , ask them for a acan of zep punch. its a engine degreaser, will work great on any oil. scaked on sludege. oh yeah and if you didnt know gunk and most degreasers work better when the engine is warm, but be careful, not to hot that when you wash the gunk of you stress fracture anything, hot to cold thing. the zep punch works great warm or cold, just give a little soaking time. my local kenworth dealer carries it, for around 9 dollars a can, but its twice the size of gunk.

Actually I sped up the process!
Seems I forgot to tighten the oil filter and ran about a quart of oil through the engine then on the ground via loose filter.
Even the best make a mistake now and then.
Finished servicing-oil and filter-air filter-tranny fluid, etc. Where might I find instructions for tuning carb, setting governor, etc?
