My NEW Favorite Cart EVER !!!! (So Far)
Well TODAY was a pretty good day I must say ... After reluctantly accepting an offer that was too good to pass up on the Workhorse / Commander last weekend, I've been looking at carts all week to start another project. I finally decided to go with another Yamaha G16 (figure "Twins" would be kinda cool PLUS I found a really, REALLY clean one at an incredible price) ... SO - I take the drive to go pick up the new cart, and I meet a really nice gentleman who just so happens to work FOR EZGO - and as we start talking carts, what's with all the Yamaha's, etc etc the topic turns to Don Plowman's work that he did for me on my Yamaha, etc and how I'm actually an EZGO guy at heart but I like being able to hit 35 on the cart w 2 people, etc etc and he smiles and takes me into the "Other" Pole Building on his property to *ahem* "Show me something I might like" ...
Well, he was right, and she's safely tucked in MY garage as I type this (of COURSE within 20min of getting home the skies opened up but ya know, I'm so happy I DON'T EVEN CARE - wanna know why?) ... *350 Bottom End with Shaved 295 head *Cut Cam with Doubled-up Springs - Advanced Timing all dialed in, KILLER Motor *Carb bored to 7/8", Polished and Jetted *Custom Tuned Stainless Header *28 degree Driven with Machined Drive Clutch *6:1 Speed Gears in Rear End *Short Belt *Pre-92 Ignition Module (can You say "NO Rev Limiter") *Aftermarket Rockers *Custom actual ROPS - Frame-Mounted And the BEST part? As it sits on *almost* stock tires it pulls like a freakin BANSHEE screaming all the way to 37-38mph on the GPS with Me and the 'Missus. I'm thinking (using standard math) I should easily, EASILY pull mid-40's once I get some bigger shoes on her - WOW. 20130601_175412.jpg 20130601_175836.jpg 20130601_175823.jpg The chassis itself is clean as a whistle, too - it's got newer heavy-duty springs for a bit more stability too - I mean SERIOUSLY this is one heck of a start to a GREAT cart (or actually who knows, it's so freakin FUN to drive I may just leave her alone for awhile, LOL) ... He threw in an extra bored carb with milder jetting as well as another exhaust, too in case I decide to quiet her down a bit, right now he's running 101 octane in it but the highest I can get around here is 93 so I may *have* to make a few minor changes as things unfold - WOO HOO is about all I can say (other than the dang RAIN) ... |

Re: My NEW Favorite Cart EVER !!!! (So Far)
*Whew* need a far better Internet connection, we shot some of the most insane "Power Slide" vids tonight, LOL ... I'm liking a lot about this one, but there are some sacrifices too, "creep speed" just isn't the same, the clutches hold off and i can idle but once they hook up it's a solid 6mph or so (it's a smooth engagement but still a little abrupt, even for me after a few beers). Second, the powerband goes from "solid pull, impressive, etc" to "BREAK EM LOOSE" in one heck of a hurry - THAT needs to be addressed or I'm going to have to increase the beer budget by a good 10-15% to compensate for "spillage".
OH - and Rib, the underneath part of the seat is actually bare wood, staples, and the edges of vinyl just like any TXT - not sure why You'd wanna see it but I'll do my best in the AM to shoot You some "Eye Candy" hahahahahahahahaha |
