Erratic acceleration response Club Car IQ
I've replaced several MCOR's due to jerky acceleration. Would fix problem for a while but same thing as time went by.
I found a fix that worked without replacing the MCOR on DS models. By removing the rod from the pedal to the MCOR and twisting it approximately 4 degrees will pre-load the MCOR so that the micro switch clicks when the pedal is depressed within 1 inch. Can't figure out just how or why this worked but it did. Important, don't twist the rod more than needed to get a high pedal activation on the micro switch or the cart will move as soon as the key switch is on (be careful). I've even done this procedure on DS carts where the owner said the cart isn't going as fast as when new. It worked!! Last edited by Bunky2; 08-05-2016 at 02:48 AM.. Reason: spelling error |

Be careful twisting that rod. It can break. This sounds like the same effect as putting a fuel hose, or zip tie on to remove slack from worn parts.

Re: Erratic acceleration response Club Car IQ
I agree, 1 minute movement on a clock is 6 degrees, so 4 degrees will be hard to judge.
I am not sure how that solved a "jerky" acceleration since that is typically caused by the resistance changing due to oxidation or surface contamination on the MCOR wiper track. |
