What they are looking for...to start with...is a voltage reading for each battery. Be sure to set the voltage range to match the batteries and record the voltage for each battery at rest. We are looking for equal voltage for each battery. You don't have to remove any wires for these tests. The next test is total pack voltage...set your meter to an upper voltage range the would accomadate the total voltage in the pack after charging. The main neg. cable is usually on the driver side and goes back towards the OBC (if you have one) or the controller. The main pos. Cable is usually on the passengers side and almost always has some other smaller wires with it. Read the total pack voltage by putting the meter probes on the main pack neg. and pos. And read the total voltage. Then charge the batteries overnight and read the total pack voltage after the charger shuts off. These numbers will help determine what's going on.

Keeping in mind that the black lead goes on the (-) and the red lead goes on the (+) battery posts. 7) Take a voltage reading across all batteries for a total combined voltage reading by placing the black lead on B1 (-) and the read lead on B6 (+) -----[-B1+]---[-B2+]---[-B3+]---[-B4+]---[-B5+]---[-B6+]----- |

6.9v on 1 set of batteries, 11.6v on the other, 14.2 on the last set and total is 9.98v across the battery pack. 48 volt cart with 6 batteries.
