Slanted Roof?
I noticed the other day that the roof on my DS is slanted quite a bit from front to back.
I noticed because I was thinking of getting the extended roof to cover the rear passengers, but while I was sitting on the back with the current roof on it my head was hitting the edge of the roof. Upon further inspection the riser bars on the rear are significantly shorter than the front. Is this normal? The rear seat looks to be a madjax rear flip... |

Re: Slanted Roof?
Does your roof look anything like the roof in this picture. Notice the roof appears level and the original rear upright struts have been replaced. Sounds like somebody did a hack job. Photo courtesy of Teecro

No. I measured the height of the uprights from my garage floor....70.5 in in the back to 74-75in in the front.
I don't have a good picture right now since it's dark out...you can see the angle here though. |

Here it is before the lift as purchased. It's on a slight incline here.
It's like they used the wrong uprights in the back. But there's no other signs that they are wrong. |

Re: Slanted Roof?
Something is definitely out of wack. Now that we got a picture maybe somebody familiar with this system will chime in.

Re: Slanted Roof?
Looks like the rear supports are the wrong ones. It should not look like that. Here is mine !

Re: Slanted Roof?
Those are not stock rear up rights. Must have came with the rear seat kit.

It's a madjax rear seat. Looking at their site and the install video it is the correct uprights Rotherham maybe not being long enough. I might have to rig something to raise the back of the roof somehow |

Re: Slanted Roof?
Something is whacked out there. Looks like someone botched the rear seat install or did not replace rear roof struts when doing rear seats and used stock ones which won't do the job.

Re: Slanted Roof?
Based on meangreen's picture it looks like they are on the wrong side. It may be that they put them on backwards to accommodate the taller seats. Just a guess.
