Question 99 36V EZGO TXT Admiral MOT-B1 Motor Thoughts?

I've been on the forum for a few months and have been upgrading things here and there. My goal was to get around 18mph but I'm stuck at 15mph, and on small inclines it struggles.

The very last thing I can think of besides upgrading to 48volt is installing a new motor, from what I have found on here I think the Admiral MOT-B1 would be a good overall fit for what I'm looking for.

My current mods:
Heavy duty solenoid
Heavy duty f/w switch
Brand new batteries
Battery wire upgrade
14" wheels

other mods:
36v to 12v DC converter
dash kit w/speaker
radio
Bluetooth LEDs for underglow
turn signal kit
rino-lined diamond plated front dirt plate

I'm just not 100% sure I want to drop $450-500 more into it if there's a chance it won't speed it up at all

Thank you in advance!

well seeing as how you mentioned you put a HD F&R Switch in it....you most certainly have a SERIES Drive system.....

you didn't mention it....but is your controller stock? if so.....you better upgrade to either a 400 or 500 amp controller if you plan on going with a High Speed Motor.

Mine is a DCS 36V so I don't know if it is the same.

I have a stock motor with an Altrax 500 controller/heavy duty solenoid and I am going 15-16 up a slight incline and almost 20 on level ground. I also put in a set of 2 gauge cables.

You might have a little less torque than I do since you are spinning some huge wheels, but top end should be even faster.

Sorry, that is the 1 thing that I didn't mention that it was series.

It has a stock controller. So if I would need to upgrade the controller and motor I think that's a deal breaker.

Use the chart below to determine which drive system your cart has. Since you already mentioned a HD F&R I figured it was Series.

Yes, you are right, it is a series! So it is not a DCS.

With that being figured out:
Would I still be able to upgrade just the controller or no?

YES....you can.....but the bad news is its not going to make your cart any faster.....unless you upgrade the motor.....or with the new controller upgrade, upgrade to 48v pack. (this will net you roughly 30% more torque and speed.)

Thank you!
sounds like I'll enjoy my golf cart for the rest of this year then may upgrade to a newer one.
