Help with lift kit

I am trying to find a 3" lift kit for my cart. I found one made by RHOX for a good price but it is only made for 2001.5 and up.

My question is, what is the difference between a 1998 and a 2001.5 that would make this kit not work?

They changed the steering between those models. Went from a steering box and Pittman arm setup to a rack and pinion steering that also changed some of the front suspension setup. The rack and pinion mounts lower where the steering box mounts on the upper frame with the steering column. They also changed the front hubs if I remember correctly as well

I don't remember seeing a 3" lift for a 98 but I have seen some 4" and i used to run a 6" lift from Steeleng on mine before going to a long travel kit

spindles are different

1994 ~ 2001.5 need steering arms

Where did you find that 3" kit for the 94-01.5? Is that a Jake's or something else?

yes it's a Jake's ... RHOX does not make a 3" lift for pre 2001.5

those are for gas (1994-2001.5)

The one below from Buggies Unlimited is what I was looking at. I did see the one which called out gas models also.
