Attached is a chart showing the relative range and cradle to grave lifespan for 48V battery packs made up from a variety of 6V and 8V batteries.

Also attached is a comparison of total 48V pack weights using Trojan batteries. I don't have battery weights for most of the other brands, but they will all have somewhere in the neighborhood of about 42 to 45 pounds per KwH and the higher the storage capacity of the battery pack, the more it is going to weigh.

Thanks, after emailing Scotty B I'm going to go with 6-8 volt batteries. Now, Trojan or crown? That's what he recommended. Anyone have experience with crown batteries? This is the first set I've had to buy and want to make the right choice.
