Default Does PowerDrive 2 charger float charge?

Greetings

First post. Will the Power Drive2 charger automatically keep the batteries in a constant state of charge i.e. After a few days if the cart hasn't been used will the charger turn itself on and keep the batteries charged? Have an a 06 precedent that was built by Sierra carts with a 500 amp ge controller and a high current roadrunner motor. Don't know if those mods will impact the chargers ability to float charge if in fact it does float charge.

In my case I suspect it doesn't float charge because I hadn't used the cart for a couple of weeks. Unplugged it, plugged it in and it then charged for about an hour and a half.

Replaced batteries recently with blue top us batteries and it's the six battery 48v set up. Asking this question to avoid sulfated batteries. Any insight, advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for the responses.

The factory charger does not float the batteries, but it does come on occasionally (15 days) to top off the pack.

This is normal. Unplugging the charger at the charge receptacle, waiting 20 seconds, then plugging it back into the cart forces the charger into a equalization routine.

once the voltage drops to a certain level the charger will come on or if voltage dosn,t drop i beleive it still will come on in 14 or 15 days so while it dosn,t float charge it still won,t allow them to go dead..........................
