2002 Club Car 48V - Loss of power

I have a 2002 club cart electric, has 6-8V batteries about 3 yrs old.

Cart seems to have lost about half of its power, it was fine one day, the next day it was slow. You have to push the pedal almost to the floor before it will go and it only seems to have about half power. Fully charging batteries doesn't help.

I took voltage reading of the batteries when they were partially discharged. The entire string measured 51.8V, each cell measured about 8.6V.

Also, I dont know if this is relevant, but the low battery indicator light seemed to stop working about the same time.

Does anyone have any ideas on what could be the problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Motor Controll Output Reguilator. It is located under the floor board next tot the go pedal.

I just wanted to post what I found to help others that may have the same problem.

I jacked it up and was looking at the MCOR and messing with the go pedal and realized the pedal would have to be at least halfway to the floor before it would move the shaft going into the mcor at all. So reading on the forums I seen someone post about putting a zip tie around the lever to fatten it up. I done that it it helped some, but luckily I found a plastic bushing that was about twice the thickness of the zip tie, that fit perfectly. The cart is running better than ever. Its amazing how a 1mm gap down there causes the you to lose about half of your power.

You can purchase a replacement GO Pedal and a replacement MCOR input shaft for a total of about $30 at local CC dealer . . .
