finally ridin'
Hello all. I bought an '81 DS last month and thought all it needed was a little tlc...boy was I wrong!!! I ended up at the shop for solenoids, coils and microswitches. Then a week later, my kid is going along and the whole left rear tire and axle come out. After fixing the bearing and new batteries, along with a cosmetic overhaul that included about 8 cans of spraypaint and repacking the seat cushion with mattress foam out of an old RV, the girls are finally riding. When I first got into this thing, I thought I'd screwed up big time, but now I have a fairly solid two-seater with new batteries and an ok paintjob for about $1200. No real point to my jabber, just thought I'd share my story. Roy.
