Wiring up Headlight kit and Volt Meter.. HELP!! W/Pics
Here is the deal I am installing a Scotty B Volt meter and a headlight kit on my 2008.5 Precedent.. I am in need of some help please.
First the volt meter. I have power to the meter but it will not shut off when I turn the key off. Here are some pics of my wiring. You will see I have the positive wire spliced into the black/yellow wire. And I have the negative wire spliced into the green wire for the ignition. Next the headlight kit. I thought this was going to be easy. Guess again, I am installing it.. :) So I had everything hook up and only the drivers side rear tail light was lighting up. I just yanked everything and now I am asking the experts. I am going to post pics of my batteries So you can please help me. My main issue is that I have no idea where to hook up the blue wire to the battery. Meaning which battery to hook it up to. Batteries 1 and 2. Batteries 3 and 4. I have no idea where to hook these wires up to. They say they are the brake light accessory wires. Any help would be appreciated. |

Also I am assuming I have the order of the batteries correct. Starting under the drive 1 then 2 then 3 and 4. Is this correct?

I am pretty sure to have the meter switched with your ignition you need to have it connected to the blue wire on your ignition. I can't confirm that as I don't have the wiring schematic in front of me but maybe Scotty can confirm that.
Looking at your pic again, isn't that the positive wire you have spliced into the green wire?? |

My cart is 2009 model and I hooked the meter to the blk/stripped and red wire behind the dash. Its always on and that is the way I wanted it. When I walk by it, I can tell the voltage at a glance. Scottyb says it draws so little that it will not affect the pack.

On my 2007 the 3 brake wires hook up under the floor mat. Remove the access panel between the brake pedal and seat. Have you looked at the Youtube videos on the installation?
