Default Controller Issue/ Surging Cart

I have 1995 series cart that lost power during a very short cruise threw the neighborhood. The cart is lifted with a back seat and 23inch tires. I had to let the cart cool off before I could make it back to the house. It was surging when I would give it throttle. The batteries are 2.5 years old. I will be replacing them shortly. I have been told that this more than likely a controller issue. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

the fact that you are lifted, have 23" tires and a back seat......begs the question, is the rest of the system stock? controller, high current cables.......

Everything else is stock. I just checked each battery and they are ranging from 6.21 to 6.28 with pack reading 37.5.

the fact that everything else is stock......its very possible that the controller is over heating, as you are putting a lot of extra stress on the system.

It will get pretty warm. Are you happy with your controller?
