Default 2006 Precedent Resistor melting on solenoid

The resistor from the two big terminals on the solenoid is melted. I took one off a cart just like it and the resistor immediately got hot before I unplugged it. The cart will not do anything........Any help would be appreciated.. Thanks

The resistor gets hot when the cart is trying to run before the solenoid is activated.

To me that indicates that the solenoid might be bad.

yes, I connected a new one and it started heating up before the accelerator is pushed. Also, I just discovered the reverse buzzer sounds when the run/tow switch is in tow position...?????

Make sure you don't have a mis-wired (or defective) accessory like a dc-dc converter that is back feeding the system.
