Default Yamaha G1 help needed

I recently inherited a non-running G1. It was used frequently with no problems and was then stored in a garage when the owner got ill. I want to first get this buggy up and running. The question I have is what size battery should I replace the existing battery with? I need to replace the spark plug as well - where do I get a NGK B-6HS? After reviewing part of the posts on this forum I see that there is a lot of expertise present. Any other "pearls" taht I might need to do before I try to start this buggy? Drain gas? Check other fluids? Etc.
p.s. I want to use this at the lake to transport people, supplies, etc. from the house to the dock (approx. 300 yds.) over level but rocky terrain.
Thanks

Welcome!!!!

Any 12 volt auto battery will be ok. I'm not sure if an auto parts store will
have the plug, but a tractor supply type store will. I would drain the gas and
make sure your oil tank has oil in it. Fire it up!!!! Let us know how it goes.

Walmart, cheapest top post 12 volt car battery will work great: around $30 or so.
